Synergistic Research

Synergistic Research cables are developed through objective measurements, advanced active technologies and proprietary cable geometries. We voice each of our cables through a series of subjective listening tests to select material combinations that will enable each cable design to reproduce music that is as close to live as possible.

First we engineer specific cable geometries to match your system. For example, in our Phase I and Phase II interconnect families we’ve developed two different cable geometries. Kaleidoscopes are engineered for long runs, balanced terminations and as warmer sounding cables for solid state electronics. Looking Glass interconnects are engineered for vacuum tube electronics and to gain higher resolution from solid state electronics.

After arriving at a geometry for a given set of components, the second and equally important phase of our cable development process is voicing each cable to complement its target components. This is by far the most time consuming process as it involves the hand fabrication of dozens of variations of each geometry. Countless hours are spent listening for just the right combination of materials that will recreate the magic of live music.

During the voicing process we submit our cables for beta testing to an independent panel of careful listeners. Since our beta testers are not internally involved with our development process, we keep our observations objective. Finally, all those involved in voicing our cables regularly attend live orchestral performances in order to provide a reference point from which to gauge the ultimate success of our cables.

SRX Series Cables

SRX Power Cable

The technology for our new SRX power cord comes direct from our SR25 25th Anniversary power cord that was limited to 100 pieces worldwide. The SRX is an exact duplicate of the now sold-out SR25 with one exception, we are using a different grade of pure six-nines silver, and this cuts the cost of our reference power cord in half. Each SRX power cord is fabricated by hand in our California factory including a flexible pure silver signal path ribbon laminate that acts as an Electromagnetic Cell running the full length of the cable from the wall plug to the IEC. Additional AC conductors are made from pure six-nines silver in an Air Dielectric for a total of nine gauge of pure silver each for the hot and neutral run. In every respect, the SRX represents the zenith of what we currently know on building the world’s state-of-the-art power cord. SR technologies include the most advanced UEF shielding we have ever developed for a power cord and the most complex duel folded electromagnetic cells we have placed in a power cord made from pure six nines silver for both the hot and neutral AC leg. With a long flexible flat EM Cell and two folded EM Cells all made from pure six-nines silver, you have in effect a pure silver PowerCell line conditioner in an AC cable format.

Galileo SX Interconnect

Galileo SX starts with the most complex interconnect geometry we’ve ever hand built in our California factory from pure 99.9999% Silver with Teflon and Air Dielectrics. We then apply a new UEF Graphene compound first developed for our SR Blue fuses for increased low-frequency impact and control, as well as increased detail and musicality. The shields have also been reworked with a new UEF Matrix Shielding Pattern that dramatically lowers your systems noise floor to deliver a holographic sound field that is totally effortless and completely musical.

Galileo SX Speaker cable

Galileo SX Speaker Cables are made by hand in our California factory from (4) High Current Silver Matrix geometries, (1) 4th Generation Tricon Silver Matrix geometry, (3) Hand Made Pure Silver / Graphene AirString Geometries and (1) Hand Made Pure Tungsten AirString geometry. All nine parallel geometries utilize our new UEF Graphene Matrix Shielding with a new UEF Graphene Compound first developed for our amazing SR Blue Fuses. For added clarity, each individual geometry is separately sheathed to cancel cable resonance. This gives you clear, effortless sound with natural decay and timbre.  When voicing these speaker cables, we added a Tungsten AirString Geometry for the unique sound staging properties of tungsten as determined during a 6-month double-blind listening test conducted to find alternate conductors for audio cables.

Galileo SX Power Cable

Galileo SX Power Cables start by adding an internal Active EM Cell to the ground as first developed in our 25th Anniversary Power Cord, the SR25. And by applying the same UEF material we first developed for our BLUE fuses to the internal EM Cell, we improve on all aspects of power cable performance including a lower noise floor, so you hear greater levels of detail with increased musicality thanks to a complete absence of noise. Frequency linearity from your connected components is also greatly improved so you hear a significant increase in frequency linearity and information that is balanced and musical. Also borrowing from the SR25 is the Galileo SX’s ability to ground the SR Active EM Cell to an SR Ground Block or Active Ground Block which increases system performance further still.

Galileo SX USB

Galileo SX USB cables were designed around a brand new UEF Filter featuring Graphene, and a special UEF Tech first developed for our award-winning Blue Fuses to eliminate digital noise through an inductive process that takes place outside the signal path. UEF Graphene Shielding is now applied in a new Matrix Grid pattern for a striking lowering of your system’s overall noise floor, so you hear detail and dynamics in the most holographic soundscape of any USB cable in Synergistic Research history. We upgraded the UEF Ground Plane with new UEF Blue Fuse technology and treated the entire cable to a new UEF Blue Fuse treatment that both increases overall cable performance as it lowers the time necessary to wait for cable burn-in. Lastly, the outer shield of the cable can be attached to ground with an included ground plug or can be attached to an optional SR Passive Ground Block or our SR Active Ground Block for a dramatic increase in overall system performance. Galileo SX Ethernet

Galileo SX Digital Ethernet Cables utilize a 2nd generation UEF Filter encased in noise and vibration canceling carbon fiber. Made from Pure Silver and Graphene conductors with Teflon and Japanese Silk dielectrics, the EM Cell directly filters the shields and is inductively coupled to signal to eliminate noise from the digital stream for music that is pure and unrestrained.

Galileo SX Digital cables start with our most sophisticated digital geometries including Pure Silver AirStrings handmade in our California factory and Silver Matrix Tricon geometries running in parallel. We then apply our latest UEF Technologies like the UEF Blue Fuse treatment, so they not only break in faster, but they also have a much higher performance ceiling with detail and clarity in a relaxed musical flow that is never fatiguing.  UEF Matrix Shielding has been adapted to dramatically lower your system’s noise floor with greater detail and dynamics over the previous Galileo UEF Shielding.  Finally, the shields can be coupled to either our passive SR Ground Block or an Active SR Ground Block for a jaw-dropping decrease in your system’s noise floor, so you hear microdynamics and inner detail that you never imagined from your favorite recordings with a soundstage increase in scale that is nothing short of virtual reality.

The first interconnect in the Atmosphere X lineup features a new UEF Matrix Shield developed not only by measuring the system or the cable’s performance but also by assessing how our brains respond to music with and without this new shield topology. Also new to ALIVE is a conditioning process and UEF Quantum resonator technology first developed for our BLUE Fuses. Atmosphere X EXCITE (level2)

Building on ALIVE’s UEF Matrix Shielding, EXCITE benefits from higher resolution Level 2 UEF Matrix Shielding and an expanded geometry that adds 2 x Pure Silver Air Strings for RCA and 4 x Air Strings for XLR hand built in our California factory from 99.9999% pure Silver Monofilament conductors in an air dielectric. To better match your system they are our first interconnects in the Atmosphere X line up to utilize RED UEF Tuning modules which add further warmth and bloom for systems that require a balance of resolution and easy listening musicality; simply listen to EXCITE in your system with and without the included RED UEF Tuning Modules to find your system’s perfect match. To lower your system’s noise floor further still the shields of EXCITE interconnects are tied direct to ground and not your components so you hear all of your music with none of the noise. As with all Atmosphere X cables, EXCITE comes standard with built in UEF Quantum Resonator technology and a conditioning process first developed for our BLUE fuse. They are then zapped with 1,000,000 volts of electricity on our big Tesla Coil which makes signal propogation more efficent at the molecular level. Atmosphere X EUPHORIA (level3)

EUPHORIA sets the bar with our most advanced Level 3 UEF Matrix Shielding and is the only Atmosphere X interconnect to include an SR Ground Plane as found in Galileo UEF Series Cables and our Limited Edition SR25 power cord for the lowest noise floor possible. EUPHORIA’s geometry is closely related to Galileo UEF making it the most complex in the Atmosphere X lineup with 4 x Discreet Airstring geometries for RCA, and 8 x Twin Conductor Airstring geometries for XLR handmade in our California factory. EUPHORIA builds on EXCITE’s system matching versatility with the addition of a BLUE UEF Filter for more detailed sound with air, to the RED UEF filter’s warmth and liquidity. SR XLR Upgrade

Connectors are not all created equal. After years of research into connector design we chose high purity, high conductivity, low mass Silver as the base material for SR20 RCA and XLR connectors to deliver more refined detail and accurate information. Teflon is used for it’s dielectric properties and the special design gives the greatest area of contact both for wire and plugs insuring that all of your music will get through. These high performance connectors are standard on our Flagship Galileo Interconnects and can be added to Atmosphere as a performance driven upgrade path.

Atmosphere X ALIVE (level1)

Atmosphere X ALIVE features a new UEF Matrix Shield developed through a direct assessment of how our brains respond to music with and without this new shield topology. Instead of just measuring the system and the cables alone, we developed new test criteria for directly assessing how a listener responds to music selecting only those design options that transfered the greatest emotional response. Also new to ALIVE is a conditioning process and UEF Quantum resonator technology first developed for our BLUE UEF Fuses. And for a lower noise floor EXCITE is engineered with an inductively coupled UEF component housed in a carbon fiber sleeve. As with all Atmosphere X cables, EXCITE comes standard with built in UEF Quantum Resonator technology and a conditioning process first developed for our BLUE UEF Fuses. For holographic realism and enhanced micro-dynamics they are zapped with 1,000,000 volts of electricity on our big Tesla Coil making signal propogation  more efficent at a molecular level. Atmosphere X EUPHORIA (level3)

Atmosphere X Euphoria Power Cables are specifically designed to reduce all noise in your system including digital grunge by shunting it to ground inductively through a complex multi cable geometry and UEF Shielding and Active Shielding for the quietest power cord in the Atmosphere X lineup. All conductors, wall and IEC connectors, shields and the same Swiss-Made power supply found in our Galileo SX power cords are then treated with our amazing Blue Fuse treatment process, and this gives Atmosphere X Euphoria a lower noise floor than is possible from the more conventional power supply and geometries found in Excite. Additionally, Euphoria’s geometry gets a boost from one more pure Silver Air String for a sound that has increased air and finesse. Another trickle-down performance upgrade from Galileo SX is the inclusion of a Ground Plane encased in the carbon fiber tube. And there’s an option to ground Euphoria’s Swiss power supply and shileds to a Synergistic Research Active Ground Block, this is perhaps the most significant upgrade that dramatically reduces your system’s noise floor for increased dynamnics and emotional involvement in your music. As with Galileo SX custom tuning is achieved through the use of a Gold UEF Tuning Module that adds warmth and bloom or when not connected the cable has a leaner balance. Of course, the choice of whether or not to use the Gold Tuning Module is yours, giving you the option to custom tune the sound of Euphoria to complement your system.

Atmosphere X EUPHORIA High Current (level3)

Atmosphere X Euphoria High Current Power Cables are engineered for maximum current delivery and are perfect for power hungry monoblocks, Class A amplifiers, power conditioners, and line strips. Sharing all design traits as found in the standard Euphoria X power cords save for heavier gauge, Euphoria High Current power cords have a denser sonic balance that may be preferred in some systems when used on lower current demand components. All conductors, wall and IEC connectors, shields and the same Swiss-Made power supply found in our Galileo SX power cords are then treated with our amazing Blue Fuse treatment process, and this gives Atmosphere X Euphoria a lower noise floor than is possible from the more conventional power supply and geometries found in Excite. Additionally, Euphoria’s geometry gets a boost from one more pure Silver Air String for a sound that has increased air and finesse. Another trickle-down performance upgrade from Galileo SX is the inclusion of a Ground Plane encased in the carbon fiber tube. Building on ALIVE’s UEF Matrix Shielding, EXCITE benefits from a higher resolution Level 2 UEF Matrix Shielding and an expanded geometry that adds 1 x Pure Silver Air Strings for RCA and 2 x Air Strings for XLR hand built in our California factory from 99.9999% pure Silver Monofilament conductors in an air dielectric. To lower your system’s noise floor further still the shields of EXCITE interconnects are tied direct to ground, not your components, so you get all of the music without the noise. As with all Atmosphere X cables, EXCITE comes standard with built in UEF Quantum Resonator technology and a conditioning process first developed for our BLUE fuses. Atmosphere X USB

The new Atmosphere X USB was designed and voiced with a single goal, to convey music with low-level detail and an emotional connection without any of the drawbacks commonly associated with the digital format. To this end, we use our propriety UEF Graphene shielding with a direct to ground connection for a dramatically lower noise floor than is possible with a non-direct grounded shield. For faster and more linear burn-in as well as higher performance, we include a new conditioning process first developed for our Blue fuses. Atmosphere X USB cables are among our first cables voiced with the new test criteria that enable us to achieve ultra resolution with a unique degree of musical purity and smoothness along with all the traits we’re famous for like a low noise floor, high resolution, and holographic realism. Atmosphere X REL Spec Subwoofer

Atmosphere X REL Spec cables are a surprise breakthrough, much like SR power cords with a fantastic ability to improve nearly all aspects of system performance. Listening notes taken during the development process listed deeper and tighter bass, so much so we were forced to turn down both of subwoofers in our reference system. A Better Way to Bi-Wire

IFT Bi-Wire vs. Jumper Cables

So how is IFT Bi-Wire termination different from standard jumper cables or binding straps? Simple: Jumper cables are rarely tuned to the frequency range they are intended to transfer, and are often times of a much lower quality than the speaker cables they are used with. Furthermore, jumper cables introduce additional hardware, in the form of spade lugs or banana plugs, that further degrade the sound. Bi-wire binding straps are almost always worse then jumper cables, as they are little more than plated metal of a quality and build that introduces considerable distortion in the form of harsh highs or muddy low frequencies.

PowerCell SX

The evolution of revolution

PowerCell SX borrows its technology from the now sold out Galileo SX PowerCell for higher performance than PowerCell 12. Technological innovation starts with the Galileo SX PowerCell’s more densely rolled Active Electromagnetic Cells for enhanced filtration and a lower noise floor. PowerCell SX then gets the Galileo SX’s power supply and Schumann Resonance Generator to power and bias its six internal EM Cells. And just like the Galileo SX PowerCell that biased all Active EM Cells, PowerCell SX’s Schumann Resonance generator biases its six Active EM cells, both rolled and flat. In contrast, the standard PowerCell 12 only biases the single flat EM Cell and with a less powerful field generator. Other improvements include the same ground filtration topology as found on the Galileo SX PowerCell for lower noise and a more holographic soundstage, and a unique ability to ground PowerCell SX to a Synergistic Research Active Ground Block for even higher performance without sacrificing any of your twelve AC outlets. Galileo PowerCell SX

The Galileo PowerCell SX is both evolution and revolution with four times the Active Filtration of the PowerCell 12 SE thanks to eleven more densely packed Active Electromagnetic Cells to the PowerCell 12 SE”s six EM Cells. Even though the SR Grounding Block was engineered to improve ground performance on our new Atmosphere Series Level 2, 3 and 4 interconnects and speaker cables as well as all SR products with external ground plane connections like Galileo, Tranquility Base isolation platforms, FEQ and Atmosphere wave generators, we have adapted it’s use to include virtually every component in your system. QLS (Quantum Line Strip)

Revive your music by plugging your components into a QLS, (Quantum Line Strip). The QLS features 6 or 9 (5 or 7 in the Schuko version) generously spaced, individual TESLA Power outlets guaranteed to improve your system’s performance. These AC line strips are Quantum Tunneled, passing 1’000’000 volts of electricity, pulse modulated at extreme high frequencies through each of the outlets. The NEW Atmosphere Satellite is an outboard broadcast antenna that connects to Atmosphere Infinity with an included ethernet cable for increased signal strength as well as improved dispersion of Atmosphere’s signal throughout a listening room. FEQ X4

The new FEQ X4 dramatically improves upon the original single antenna FEQ with 4-large broadcast antennas for a full 360-degree immersive experience. This is our ultimate set it and forget it acoustic field generator and is perfect for people who want increased performance from their audio systems and SR products with UEF Technology but without the complexity of the iPad controlled Atmosphere. Moreover, while the FEQ X4 is larger than the original single antenna FEQ it’s still small enough to hide in furniture, behind drapes and sofas, or in bookcases for the ultimate in invisible acoustic control. FEQ X4 is a single channel ULF (Ultra Low Frequency) RF pulse generator that acts as a low-frequency dither to overpower the ambient RFI and EMI fields in your listening room broadcasting over (4) separate channels for a more immersive experience than was possible from the original single and smaller antenna FEQ. In addition to acoustic benefits, it also improves the performance of all SR products with UEF Technology. ATM Red
An astounding transformation of your system’s musical presentation occurs simply by placing a Red Atmosphere Tuning Module (ATM) on or around your speakers. How can such a small thing cause such a grand improvement? All frequencies are related to and interconnected with each other and positively affected by the oscillating ATM excited by sound waves within your room.  The walls of your room will fall away as you begin to hear spacial queues and low level ambient information start to surround you, while any harshness in your system is augmented into refined delicate musical tones.

ATM Green
The new “Green” ATM or Atmosphere Tuning Module is a significant breakthrough in acoustic resolution for the Synergistic Research Atmosphere Field Generator as well as being used on it’s own within a listening room. Compared directly to the original Red ATM the Green ATM is a faster resonator portraying acoustics and recordings with a lower noise floor for enhanced detail and air. Notes seem to decay into a darker background while the overall sound field seems to extend further in all directions; front to back, side to side and top to bottom. Use 1 Green ATM on the front wall, in close proximity, between your speakers or add a second Green ATM and place them directly on top of your speakers.

With HFT’s your speakers and room disappear leaving you with nothing but a live holographic musical event in your listening room, or living room. HFTs oscillate at high frequencies creating an energy field in your room that overpowers room vibrational distortions to correct phase and frequency interactions for harmonic balance in your treated room. Before there was UEF Tech there was Acoustic ART, our first foray into the field of sympathetic resonance as an alternate means of treating room acoustics. Vibratron is a handmade multi-frequency resonator that anchors the focal point of your soundfield to your listening room to expand and clarify your listening experience. Vibratron works by resonating in response to acoustic pressure created by your speakers. When Vibratron is excited it radiates an even order harmonic in a 360 degree wave pattern in sympathy with the music to focuses and expands your soundstage. Additionally Vibratron improves your room’s acoustic response to music creating a more organic and musical sound. Acoustic instruments sound natural with organic timbre while female vocals sound present and three dimensional. Tranquility POD is a field generator hand-built in our California factory consisting of an Active EM Cell with UEF Tech and Graphene. It works by conditioning signal through inductive coupling when the POD is placed under or on top of audio components to cancel distortion and this translates into clearer sound with a lower perceived noise floor. Tranquility PODs also include a Ground Plane to reduce ground noise revealing information and spacial cues you’ve been missing. MiG SX footers are an evolution of our original MiG footers developed in 2008. We start with a new specially tuned MiG resonator forged from high carbon steel and add a precision-machined Aircraft Aluminum and Carbon Fibre three-piece chassis engineered to distribute vibration through a special tuning disc and a UEF tuning element into Carbon Tungston ball bearings. UEF Performance Elevators

UEF Performance Elevators not only elevate your speaker cables from the floor, but they also dramatically improve fundamental aspects of system performance, including low-frequency weight and control, mid-range clarity, and high-frequency extension.
