WADAX
Wadax was established in 2006 after two decades of multidisciplinary Fundamental Research.. Its aim is simple: transport the audience into the recording session, wherever it might be. To achieve this, Wadax worked step by step, starting in the recording session, to the final step, the listening stage. The essence of these projects is a wide set of core technologies that involve acoustics, digital signal processing, D/A and A/D conversion, and analog circuitry. These core technologies are the building blocks of all Wadax products.
Wadax is the first high-end audio company to design its own chip in 2010, the musIC chip. An extremely complex processor dedicated exclusively to uncompromised quality in music playback, processing data in 128 bit resolution and moving audio data at 6.4 GBytes/second. The musIC process is key in all Wadax products.
In 2017, Wadax Labs introduces Atlantis. Atlantis is about the Ultimate performance. The Best-of-the-Best from Wadax Labs. Ultra-sophisticated technology and features, while simple to operate. Atlantis label will be given to all those products that represent a breakthrough in performance and offer unique capabilities, in absolute terms.
Since 2010, Wadax sells its products successfully to different markets in Asia. 2017 is a new milestone in company development with the expansion to Europe and Spain.

Philosophy
There is nothing fanciful or imaginary about the engineering and performance of the Atlantis products. From the remarkable MusIC chip decoding technology, with its proprietary, algorithmic feed-forward correction of non-linearities in the decoding process, to the refined implementation of the Zepto clock and real-time monitored power supply: from the Wadax Thor 1.3 optical transport, capable of CD, SACD, DVD-Audio and BluRay playback to the transfer and decoding of DSD without sample-rate conversion: from the Roon server core to the elimination of the digital and power supply noise that mars almost all other file playback, the Atlantis components establish new levels of technical and musical excellence. This is a fundamental improvement – once you have experienced the natural timbre, timing, dynamics and air, the rhythmic communication, sense of expression, musical flow and life-like, organic presentation of the Atlantis components, there’s no going back. The musIC 2 chip improves the already outstanding results of the first generation musIC chip. The musIC process is an extremely sophisticated mathematical process based on a feed forward concept.
This approach is unique in the industry and brings closer to the music than was ever before.
Besides, Newly developed algorithms make Atlantis quicker, quieter and even more natural sounding than the original MusIC process.
To deliver optimum results, musIC 2 feedforward technology starts with the best possible analog circuitry. Its discrete output stage and I/V conversion circuitry are composed of 400 parts, many of them build to custom specs. The result is an unmatched capability to drive all possible loads. All analog circuitry is fully balanced.
Clocking is critical in a D/A converter. For the ultimate performance, Wadax developed a custom clock, exceeding the already outstanding specs of the previous Zepto clock. The Zepto 2 clocking technology is based around a proprietary OCXO improved in short term stability and other key factors, but most importantly, clock routing across the clock-sensitive elements. This involved a full circuit redesign so track lengths to all critical parts are tightly controlled. Total jitter is now 12 femptoseconds from 1-100 KHz, the lowest figure in the industry.
The Power Supply of Atlantis DAC is largely responsible for it unique musical skills. Extremely sophisticated and complex, its housed in an external chassis that is the same size as the main DAC unit. It is built following a symmetric dual-mono design, with two custom umbilical cords that provide power supply to the DAC unit. The heart of the design is a unique topology based on 3 custom transformers, wound around a custom formulated core and would following a specific technique to optimize noise rejection from the mains. The power supply is composed of more than 500 parts. It is the most elaborate power supply ever designed for a DAC.
